Introduction:
According to the Waste Management and Minimization Compliance to
Environmental Quality (Scheduled Waste) Regulations, 2005, “Every waste
generator shall ensure that all his employees involved in the identification,
handling, labelling, transportation, storage, and spillage or discharge response
for scheduled wastes attend training programs.”

This Waste Management requirement for training applies to all employees of
waste contractors involved in the handling, transportation and storage of
scheduled waste. This workshop is also named as Scheduled Waste
Management.

Program Objective:
Schedule Waste Management is one crucial agenda that requires special attention
according to the Environmental Quality Act 1974. Most companies are aware of
this and include the importance of complying the acts in the company’s policies.
However due to some reasons, many have failed to educate and train their
employees into better performing in their roles and responsibilities. As a result,
many organizations have failed to control standards and the place of work causing
increases of industrial pollution. This two day program attempts to give
organization to better utilize their efforts in forming a safety & healthy working
environments thus reducing accident rates at the place of work

Upon completion of this session the participants should:

• The participant should be able to develop their own management
  approach in handling and managing hazardous waste in an
  environmentally sound manner and targeting for full compliance to the
  national and international legislation.
